Democratic Governance, Public Administration and Poverty Alleviation
Thematic Discourse and Geographical Cases
The present volume calls for no less than a paradigm shift in the way that we understand Public Administration. For more than 30 years, it was defined essentially as the “one size fits all” pursuit of economy, efficiency and effectiveness. All other considerations were regarded as secondary. Instead, the present volume endeavours to restore public service and the concept of general interest at the core of the field and profession of Public Administration, and to reposition the field at the interface of Democratic Governance and Poverty Alleviation.
