Property Law Series 4 results
Property law has experienced a ‘revival’ in recent years. From an old, rigid field of law rooted in an agrarian tradition, property law has evolved into a modern component of property law. In this way, property law is coming out of its isolation, and the interfaces with tax law, constitutional and administrative law, matrimonial property law, law of obligations, human rights, etc. are becoming central. Comparative law is also a cornerstone of in-depth analysis.
In this perspective, the ‘Property Law Series’ aims to bring together in-depth works on property law. This depth requires a thorough analysis that contributes greatly to both understanding and legal practice. Both Dutch- and English-language works can be accessed in it.
The series is edited by Prof Dr V. Sagaert, Prof Dr A. Wylleman, Prof Dr N. Carette, Prof Dr S. Van Erp and Prof Dr A. Van der Walt.

The occasion of this conference was the holistic and innovative Belgian property law reform, which is part of the larger establishment of a brand new Belgian Civil Code. The goal of the conference, and hence of the book, was to engage with (both junior and more senior) property law experts from different legal systems to critically assess this Belgian property law reform from an international perspective by comparing it to other, recent and not so recent, property law reforms.
